Stephen Dewitt Semaria

Semaria, Stephen DeWitt, age 71, of Louisville, KY passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014. Steve was born in New York City on August 24, 1942 to the late Victor and Jeannette Semaria. He was married to Judy Semaria for 21 years. He was the father of Stephanie Semaria and step-father of Chad and Micah Reynolds. He is survived by two brothers: Richard and Eichner of Chicago, Illinois and Richard Semaria of New York City.

Steve held a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mathematics and a Masters Degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Nebraska and was a member of the Society of Actuaries. He held the positions of Principal and Vice President at William M. Mercer and Chairman of the Board of Custom Manufacturing. Following his retirement, he was the CEO of the Benefits Planning Group. He also served on the boards of various organizations.

Steve was an athlete who trained for Wimbledon, played college hockey, and was an accomplished musician, playing piano, trombone and trumpet. Steve also helped form the Tennis League in Louisville.

Visitation will be held in the Fireside Room of Southeast Christian Church Thursday from 5:00-7:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Service from 7:00-8:00 PM.
