Stephen W. Blakeney, 68, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023. Stephen was a graduate of Valley High School in 1972 and attended Murray State University. He spent 30 years at Baptist East Hospital as a Surgical Technician. He loved music especially playing guitar and singing. He also loved horse racing and basketball.
He was born on August 7, 1954 in Fort Knox, Kentucky to Cooper and Mary (Carter) Blakeney. He is preceded in death by both parents.
Stephen is survived by his loving family, siblings, Saundra Blakeney, Karen M. (George) Goodman, and Greg (Susan) Blakeney; nieces and nephews, Taylor Crawford, Aaron Morris, and Gabriele Jones.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Graveside Service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, at Bethany Memorial Cemetery.
The family requests that contributions in Stephen's memory be made to American Diabetes Association.
