Stephen J. Blackwell Sr.

Stephen J. Blackwell Sr., 66, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023. Stephen was a 1975 graduate of Bishop David High School. He retired from Reynolds/LLFlex after 20-plus years of service. He was a devoted single father to his two sons and he always put family first. Upon retirement, he enjoyed going to University of Louisville sporting events, stock car races, and taking care of his pups.

He was born on May 11, 1957 in Louisville, Kentucky to Thomas and Virginia (Desse) Blackwell. He is preceded in death by his Father, Thomas E. Blackwell, Sr. and Mother, Virginia G. Blackwell.

Stephen is survived by his loving family, Sons, Stephen J. (Adelyn) Blackwell, Jr. and James K. Blackwell; Siblings, Thomas E. (Stella) Blackwell, Jr., Debby (Jimmy) Forbis, and Rick (Sherry) Blackwell, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish his memory forever.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Faith Lutheran Church, (7635 Third Street Rd. Louisville, KY 40214). His Celebration of Life Service will be at 5:00 pm on Sunday, at Faith Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Stephen's memory be made to Friends of Louisville Metro Animal Services (3528 Newburg Rd. Louisville, KY 40218)
