Stephen A. Taylor

Stephen A. Taylor, a beloved member of our community and a gifted musician, passed away on February 8, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of 67. Born on November 4, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, Stephen embarked on a lifelong journey characterized by a deep devotion to music and an unwavering commitment to his faith.

Stephen earned his Master’s Degree in Theology from the Louisville Presbyterian Seminaries, where he honed his profound understanding of spiritual matters. Throughout his life, he dedicated many years to playing the organ for his church, filling the sacred space with melodies that inspired and comforted those around him. His artistry was not merely a profession; it was a calling that reflected his love for music and his belief in its power to connect people to the divine.

A deeply caring son, Stephen devoted his later years to taking care of both of his parents. His compassion and commitment to his family were evident in every aspect of his life. Stephen was not only a responsible son but also a creative spirit who relished the peace found in solitude. He enjoyed reading extensively and was known for his creativity, which extended beyond music into various forms of expression.

Stephen leaves behind a loving family, including his sister, Angela Scheu, his brother, Thomas "Tom" (Janice) Taylor, and his sister, Kimberly (Jon) Lewis. He was also cherished by his nieces, Tiffany Taylor, Tamara Taylor, Kritsy (Anthony) Rankin, and Ava Lewis, each of whom will carry forward his memory in their hearts.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Valeria S. Taylor, and his father, Billy Wayne Taylor and, great-nephew Ayden Taylor. Their legacy of love and guidance shaped the man Stephen became, and their spirits will undoubtedly continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.

Stephen A. Taylor will be remembered not only for his musical gifts and theological mastery but also for the gentle spirit and kindness he shared with everyone he encountered.
