Stella Frances Cross

Stella Frances Cross, 96, of Louisville KY, passed away, on Monday September 16th, 20204. Frances started out her life in Columbia, KY. She was a 1947 graduate of Columbia High School. She became a beautician in order to make everyone around her feel special. Frances owned Fairmeade Beauty salon for years until the building sold. In her retirement she became manager of Chic Wigs at Bashford Manor, there Frances helped many women with breast cancer feel beautiful. 

 Frances loved to travel on land and in the air! She enjoyed square dance, going up on a hot air balloon ride with her friend Norman Cohan. She also took great pride in being on the board of the Brown Suburban Condominiums, where she established many great friendships. 

 Frances is survived by her son, Ronnie and daughter-in-law, Liz Cross; several Nieces, Jerry Kay Emberton, Karen Mercer, Joy Grider Carpenter; and nephew David Lepiaryck. 

 She was preceded in death by her oldest son Dan Cross and his wife Cynthia Cross; her parents, Daniel and Effie Grider; brothers, James C. and Walter Grider; and her sisters, Nona Cook and Kathy Lepiarczyk.

 The family request that donations be made to Alzheimer Associations of Kentucky, in lieu of flowers. 

 Visitation will be held Monday, September 23rd, 2024, from 10:00am-11:00am, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, 40243. A graveside service will follow the visitation on Monday, 12:30pm central time, at 15 Cecil Blair Rd, Columbia KY, 42728.
