Starr Jean Hearn

May 17, 1951 — November 18, 2023

Starr Jean "Brown" Hearn was born on May 17, 1951, to the union of Emma Frances (Young) Brown and Henry Maxie Brown in Irvington, Kentucky. Starr was granted her wings on November 18, 2023. She spent her final days surrounded by family after succumbing to pancreatic cancer.

Starr accepted Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church in Irvington, Ky. She later rededicated her life to Christ in 1992 and attended Mt. Hermon Baptist Church in Louisville, KY until her health started to decline.

Starr graduated from Louisville Central High School. After graduating she pursued a lifetime of public service. She worked for the women's prison in Pewee Valley before joining the Louisville Metro Police Department until she retired in 1999. Not one to stay idle she later worked in the security department for the University of Louisville Hospital until 2017. In her spare time, she obtained her Associate degree from the Kentucky School of Business.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Emma Brown, Father, Henry Maxie Brown, Brother, Larry Brown, Sister, Marcheta Brown, Brother, Dwayne Brown.
Starr is survived by her loving family, Children, Naklesa T. (Alonzo) Brock and Gary W. Hearn, Jr.; Grandchildren, Alonzo, Alyssa, Gionnie, San'Tori, Alonte, and Jacque; Sisters, Kay (Willie Eugene) Simmons and Sandra Brown; Nieces, Kaleta and Angelique; Nephew, Fred, as well as a host of family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 30, 2023, and Friday, December 1, 2023, from 10am-12pm.
at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Brooks Memorial Cemetery in Irvington, KY

The family requests that contributions in Starr's memory be made to Breast Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer, and Multiple Sclerosis..
