Stanley Ellis Aplegate, 62, went to be with the Lord on July 18, 2012. Stan was born on February 21, 1950 in New Albany, Indiana. He was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Davenport on May 24, 1975. Stan was a long-time member of Church on the Rock in New Albany and worked as a heavy equipment operator for 35 years at Carbide Industries in Louisville, Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Applegate; parents, James S. and Garnette Ellis (Jones) Applegate; brother, Devon K. Applegate (Mary); sister, Janda L. Rake (Tim); nieces, Brandy Hrabal (Jared), Maggie Wild (Billy), Kelly Lorch (Matthew), and Jodi Rake; and many other relatives.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 PM Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 11 AM Monday at the funeral home. A private burial will take place after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family (checks can be made payable to his wife, Shirley Applegate).
