Stacy Lynn Donovan

February 1, 1977 — October 29, 2022

Stacy Lynn Patterson Donovan, aged 45, died unexpectedly on October 28th, 2022 surrounded by friends and family. Born on February 1st, 1977 to Carolyn Patterson Burnette and John Patterson (deceased). She is survived by her loving husband, Shannon Donovan, her children; Tristan and Kelsey Donovan, granddaughter Keira Donovan, siblings, Terry, Roy, Scott (Teresa), Lynda (Bobby), and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father John Sr., oldest brother John Jr., and nephew Jesse Patterson.

Stacy was a beloved wife, exceptional mother, devoted daughter, and loyal friend. On July 15th, 1995, Stacy and Shannon decided on forever. Although, forever never really seems long enough. While Stacy is no longer physically with us, the eternal love Stacy and Shannon share carries on. Stacy was brilliant and hardworking. She remained on the honor roll all through grade school. She graduated from nursing school with honors, while raising two adoring daughters. Stacy was incredibly kind and remarkably compassionate, whether you were family, a life long friend, or some stranger in need of help at a shopping center. Stacy relished in the simple pleasures of life, reminding us of just how monumental those special little moments truly are. She loved following the butterflies through the flowers, watching the sun rise and set, and long walks on the beach. She loved her animals whether she found them in the work parking lot or a pet store. But most importantly, she loved her family fiercely, blood related or not. All too often, Stacy would put the needs of her family over her own; she would show up ready to go before you have even changed out of your pajama pants. Stacy was strong. She lost her grandfather, father, and oldest brother in the span of a few years at such a young and crucial age. She could have let her loss and grief cripple her. Instead, she persisted until she created a life she dreamed.

It was only in the time of her passing and shortly after did we realize just how superhumanly strong of a woman she was. Stacy was fighting a grueling battle with cancer. When her efforts appeared futile, she did not burden her friends and family with dread, despair, and worry. No. Stacy shouldered all the weight, choosing to cherish every second with her loving husband, playing with her giggly granddaughter, caring for her barnyard of animals, taking trips with her friends, and being surrounded by family.

While Stacy no longer walks beside us, she lives on in our memories and in our hearts: her laugh, her smile, her warm embrace. Stacy is a dearly missed wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend; she will be impossible to forget.
