Sonja Kay Welsh

Sonja Kay Welsh, 70, of Brandenburg, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023. Sonja graduated from Valley High School in 1971 and House of James Beauty School in 1972. She was a member of South Jefferson Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and a fan of all things sparkly.

She was born on January 1, 1953 in Paris, Kentucky to Edward and Marcella (Ramsey) Warren. She is preceded in death by her Father, Edward Warren, Mother, Marcella Warren, and Son, Joshua Diemer.

Sonja is survived by her loving Husband of 31 years, Gary Welsh; Son, Jason (Angie) Diemer; Grandchildren, Darien Diemer, Jadon Diemer, Jayla Diemer, Leland Diemer, and London Popp; Siblings, Donnie (Susie) Warren, Sherry (Mike) Schulz, Gennie (Jeff) Arnold, and Victor (Linda) Warren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her memory forever.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
