Shirley L. (Glover) Yeates

Shirley L. (Glover) Yeates, 77, went home to be with Jesus on May 16, 2024. Shirley was born in Louisville, KY on November 25, 1946, to the late Nell Catherine ("Connie") and William T. Glover. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James G. Yeates. She graduated from Shawnee High School, received her college degree from Kentucky Southern, and completed her Master's Degree at the University of Louisville. She taught English for many years to her students at JCPS.

Shirley is survived by her siblings, Vicki Jager; children John Michael (Sherrill) Jager, Jr., and Ashley Catherine Jager - Bobbie Aubrey; son John Michael (Amanda) Aubrie - Judith Eaton; children Robin (Bill) Schwing, Michael (Lisa) Eaton - Brother, William T. Glover III; children Dominic (Charla) Glover, Tammy (Thad) Abbott and Teira Glover - Brother, Mark Glover; children Austin, Adam, and Asha. Three stepchildren, Kevin Yeates, Natalie (Mark) Comerford and Laura (Greg) Stubbs. Five step grand-children, Sean, Katelyn, Shelby, Jarod & Kristin. Six step great grand-children, Savannah, James, Adalyn, Caroline, Ryland & Callahan. Three step-nephews Bruce, Dixon, & Carson.

Shirley loved the Lord and was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church. A true Christian who helped those in need and always displayed the Love of Christ to all! She will be missed dearly but we will see her again someday!

The Celebration of Life service will be held at Newcomers 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY., on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Service will be at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
