Shirley Jean Mumphrey, age 76 of Louisville, was called home to her heavenly father on Saturday, November 10, 2018. Shirley was born into the union of the late George W. Blade and Mamie Bell Wayne Blade on February 16, 1942 in Eminence, Kentucky. Shirley confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and was an active member of her home church, First Baptist Eminence, Kentucky, serving on the Alter Guild, VBS, teaching Sunday school and was the Assistant Church Clerk. When she moved to Louisville, Kentucky with her family, she never forgot her church home and continued to send her tithes there while attending other churches in Louisville, Kentucky. Shirley was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, daughter and aunt. She retired from State Government in 1995 to care for her husband. Her joy was in helping others become the best that they could be. Her second love was gardening. With great determination, she enrolled in the Master Gardener Program at the University of Kentucky and became a Certified Master Gardener. She became an Entrepreneur of her own Landscape and Flower Design business.
