Shirley Marie Jones

Shirley Marie Jones, 93, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her Catholic faith and service to the Church was always at the center of her life. She was a proud graduate of Presentation Academy in 1947. She enjoyed quilting, playing bunco, crocheting, and cutting grass with her zero turn lawn mower. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She was born on April 10, 1929 in Loretto, Kentucky to Benedict and Marie (Thomas) Jarboe. She is preceded in death by her Father, Benedict J. Jarboe, Mother, Marie Wathen Jarboe, Husband of 66 years, Edward Eugene Jones, Siblings, Ben Jarboe, Jr., Bill Jarboe, Tom Jarboe, Charley Jarboe, and Paul Jarboe.

Shirley is survived by her loving family, Children, Ann Meyer, Dennis (Anne) Jones, Kathleen (Charles) O'Quinn, Theresa (David) Smith, Mark (Denise) Jones, and Robert Jones; Grandchildren, Shirley (Buck) Rucker, Robert Meyer, William Meyer, Elizabeth (Chris) Sohl, Evelyn (Sam) McDonald, Ellen Jones, Patrick (Bonnie) O'Quinn, Christopher (Jackie) O'Quinn, Barbara (Johnny) O'Quinn, Bryan (Siena) Smith, Adam Smith, Brandon (Jessi) Jones, Anthony (Kristen) Jones, Stephen (Bri) Jones, and Jonathan Jones; 32 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great-Grandchild; Sister-In-Law, Juanita Jarboe, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Guardian Angels, (6000 Preston Hwy Louisville, KY 40219) Visitation will continue Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Guardian Angels from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Her Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, at Guardian Angels with burial to follow at Jones Family Farm (1990 Burch Hill Rd Payneville, KY 40157) everyone will be meeting at the cemetery at 1:30pm EST. There will be a lunch following the burial at Pike Recreation Center at St. Theresa Church.
