Shirley Gertrude (Huffman) Hampton, 83, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on March 8, 2014.
Shirley was born on March 2, 1931 to the late Horace D. & Fannie (Grear) Huffman. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Alice Lorine Hampton.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Hampton, children; Verle Huffman, Dorothy Stonecipher, and Louisa Rasheed, sister; Catherine Heishman, 4 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 AM to 8 PM Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Mauckport, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hopital (262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN. 38105).
