Shirley Conrad

Shirley Ann (Crane) Conrad, 71, of New Albany passed away on Friday, August 6, 2010. Shirley was a member of Northside Christian Church in New Albany and volunteered faithfully each week at Northside on Oak. She also was a former cook at Wooded Glen Retreat Center in Henryville.

Shirley was born on December 23, 1938 to the late Willie Moses and Edith Iona (Lofton) Crane in Hardinsburg, Indiana. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Radcliff and her son-in-law, Steve Haworth.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny R. Conrad; daughter, Sandy Jones Haworth of Charlestown, Indiana; son, Brian Gene Jones of Salem; sister, Dorothea Henry of Corydon, Indiana; grandchildren, Maurice Jones, Jr., and his wife, Laura, Billy G. Jones, Britney Jones, and Brienna Jones, all of Salem, Indiana, Eric Kirkham and his wife, Angie of North Vernon, Heather Haworth and Harold Douglas of Jeffersonville; great grandchildren, Jimmy and Brianna Kirkham, both of North Vernon, Indiana and Hailey Haworth of Jeffersonville, Indiana.

The visitation will be 1 to 8 PM on Monday, August 9, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home, (formerly Generations Funeral Home) at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany. The Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 10 in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at Newcomer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Charlestown Cemetery in Charlestown, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Northside on Oak (1423 East Oak Street, New Albany, IN 47150) or to Hosparus – the Community Hospice of Southern Indiana (624 East Market Street, New Albany, IN 47150).
