Shirley Blankenship, 76, passed away on July 19, 2014. She was very family oriented person who loved to garden, going to the lake and spending time with her friends and most of all her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, provider, caring and genuine person.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ell and Martha Rasnick, brother, James Rasnick, sister, Geneva Rasnick and grandchildren, Frank (Wayne) Ballard and Ashley Blankenship,
She is survived by her husband of 56 years,Carson Blankenship, Sr., sons, Carson (Lisa) Blankenship, Jr., Ronald (Gigi) Blankenship, Thomas Blankenship, Sandra Cook and Gary Blankenship; grandchildren, Brad, Chrissy, Brandon, Bradley, Matthew, Connie, Deirdra, Aaron, Stacey, Joe and Jessie; great-grandchildren, Keenan, Gabby, Ben, Eli, Carson, Jackson, Emerson and Sophia; sisters, Anna Justice and Wanda Robinson.
Visitation for Shirley will be Tuesday, July 22, 2014, from 2pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 11am at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel.
Interment will be at Louisville Memorial Gardens - West.
