Shirley Ann Embry

Shirley Ann Embry, 74, of Louisville, KY passed away August 2, 2014. Shirley retired from Gannett Direct Marketing after 15 years of service. She was also a caregiver in her later years. Shirley enjoyed bowling and Bingo, was a member of the Red Hats, and loved to listen to the Gaithers.

Born August 27, 1939, in Burkesville, KY to Paul and Lee Branham, her parents preceded her in death. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sisters, Paula Branham and Geneva Branham.

Survivors include three daughters, Audrey Ratcliffe (Michael), Diane Quire, and Jinny Willis (Richard); two sons, William Good (Alesia) and Harold Embry (Robin); sisters, Freida Cherry and Peggy Branham; brothers, Terry Branham and Mark Branham; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; close friends Bea and Addie at Yorktown Senior House; and her beloved dog, Hershey.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). Funeral Ceremony will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
