Sherry Lynn Hines, 51, of Louisville, passed away on Sunday April 2, 2023. Born on March 2, 1972, she was preceded in death by her parents, George Theodore "Teddy" Fisher and Ruby Shaw Dudgeon, as well as her stepfather Stephen Dudgeon.
Sherry is survived by her husband, James Wayne Hines, her children Byron Fisher, Bethany Hittle, and Shawn Pollard, step-children Michelle Carte (Robert) and Christie Hardin (JR), seven grandchildren, Grandmother Shirley Fowler, her brother Chris Fisher (Misty), Aunts Cheryl Goddard, Nancy Brawand (Roger), William Shaw, Tim Shaw, Harvey Shaw, and Great Uncle Marvin Hanka (Martha). In addition, Sherry is also survived by her late father's girlfriend Monica Zumstein and cherished cousins Lisa, Mark (Veronica), Denise (Scott), Vicki (Jeremy), David (Debbie), Mari Kay, Kristy Dawn, John-Michael, Matthew (Annie), and Sabrina (Patrick).
Sherry was admired by her husband and her children for her sense of humor and laughter, her endurance and strength, empathy and love, and her enduring Christian faith. She loved race cars, music, wrestling, coffee, and purses. She really loved purses. Sherry spent her younger years doing a multitude of jobs from teacher's assistant at a preschool to driving semi-trucks on the open road. In recent years, she passed her days as a wife and stay-at-home mother. Her sense of humor lightened our world. She loved our family deeply and cherished the warm and funny memories she had with all of her Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and her dear friends. Sherry was generous. She tried to help people who had less - even when she didn't have much to give herself. She opened her heart and her home whenever she could. Sherry taught us about love and forgiveness and how to tackle life's biggest challenges.
Sherry lived a life that wasn't always easy, and sometimes she wavered, but she always endured. Sherry fought the good fight. She finished the race. She kept the faith.
A service to celebrate Sherry's life will be at 4 P.M. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive). The family will receive friends from 12 P.M. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
