Sherrie Lynn Law

Sherrie Law, 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away with her loved ones by her side on January 22, 2025 at Saints Mary and ELizabeth Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Sherrie was a nurse and caregiver at Hazelwood Hospital for 27 years. She truly loved her job. She especially got joy out of working with the children. She was also an avid Christian and read her Bible faithfully. She was a member at Valley View Church. Sherrie will be sincerely missed by everyone that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Mabel Turner, sister, Patty, son, John Fortuin, and step-daughter, Lisa Law.

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Merrill Law; her sisters, Linda (Daryl) Davis, Olivia (Mike) Williams; children, Carol (Bob Butler) Fortuin, Rebecca (Jamie) Chandler; step-children, Deanna (Chris) Ovsak, David (Debbie) Law, Shannon (Scott Crowe) Law; granddaughters, Amanda (Eric) Ferguson, Jessie (William) Green, Austin (Krystal) George, Ashley Fortuin; great-grandchildren, Isaac George, Aria Jarret, Dylan Jones, Braylon Jones, Gavin Jones; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 30, 2025 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel.

The family requests that contributions in Sherrie’s memory be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
