Sherlice Smith

July 24, 1965 — September 29, 2014

On Monday, September 29, 2014, God called his child Sherlice (Lisa) Smith home to sing in that glorious heavenly choir.

Sherlice, known as "Lisa", was born on July 24, 1965 in Oak Hill, West Virginia. However, she spent the majority of her life in Louisville, Kentucky. Lisa graduated from Butler High School in 1983. After high school, Lisa worked in retail for a number of years, ultimately working her way up to management and held positions at such establishments as Family Dollar, LLC and Dr. Bizer's.

Lisa gave her life to Christ at the age of six and was baptized by the late Rev. Herman Colbert of Kingdom Land Baptist. Lisa later joined Union Missionary Baptist Church where she served in all the choirs – The Buds of Youth, Youth Choir and the Gospel Choir- growing up praising God! After the death of her father, Lisa served at Zion Hope Baptist Church to support her brother, Rev. Kennard Bush. At the time of her death, she was a member of York Street Baptist under the pastorate of Rev. Earnest Jackson.

Lisa loved life. She enjoyed meeting people, singing, playing cards, and shopping was her favorite pastime. Family was important to Lisa. She loved her family but that love extended to so many outside her family. She was a wonderful daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and a great friend. Lisa was lovingly called granny, Meme, and Aunt Lisa.

Lisa was united in marriage to Rev. Thomas Smith, Jr. in October, 2007. Their love surpassed the short seven years they had together. Their faith in God and their commitment to each other allowed them to enjoy their life as a couple, in spite of major illnesses and daily trails. They shared a life of love and devotion until her untimely death.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father Rev. Otis W. Bush, grandparents, and her oldest brother Calvin Bishop.

Lisa leaves in God's care and to cherish her memories a loving husband, Rev. Thomas Smith, Jr.; a devoted mother, Roberta Hamilton; her living father, Victor Randall (Phyllis); sons, Jamar Randall (Jessica);Thomas Smith, III, (Valeria);DeShawn Smith (Roselyn); one daughter, Jessica Smith; six sisters, Cynthia Dean (Enoch), Konita Lawler (Gary), Shereese Smith (Kingsley), Lavita Postell (James),Tabitha Smith, Talisha Collins; five brothers, Anthony Bush, Rev.
