October 9, 1953 — January 10, 2014
Shawn "Pops" Fridenstine, 60, passed away January 10, 2014 after a brief illness.
He was a member of Jeff Street Baptist Community at Liberty, and a Youth Counselor at Boys and Girls Haven.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Milton Fridenstine; son, Chiayim Burney (Lydia); daughters, Shameka and Kendra Fridenstine; sister, Rosenna Hickman; mother-in-law, Dottie Milton; sister-in-law, Jennifer McReynolds (Scott); six nieces and nephews who he adored; and countless boys and young men whose lives are forever changed because of his love and guidance.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at New Directions Housing Corporation, 1000 East Liberty Street, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held Monday, January 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Fern Creek United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts in his memory be made to At Liberty Hospitality, 800 East Liberty Street, Louisville, KY 40204, or to Boys and Girls Haven, 2301 Goldsmith Lane, Louisville KY 40218.
