Sharon Kay Summers

Sharon Kay Summers, age 68, of Vine Grove, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, mamaw, sister, aunt, and friend, whose warmth and love touched the lives of all who knew her. She had a passion for cooking and gardening and cherished every moment spent with her family, especially during the holidays and while creating lasting memories with her grandkids. A dedicated fan of UK basketball, Sharon always infused her home with her unique decorating projects, showcasing her creativity and care.

Born on October 3, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the beloved daughter of Willie and Clotille (Rogers) Burton. Sharon is preceded in death by her father, Willie Burton, and her mother, Clotille Irene Rogers.

Sharon's loving spirit lives on in her husband of 32 years, Malcolm Leslie Parsons, Sr.; her children, Carla Summers, Melissa (Derold) Cardwell, Terry (Kara) Summers, and Malcolm (Danielle) Parsons, Jr.; her grandchildren, Christian, Justin, Destiny, Brandon, Desiree, Courtnee, Natalee, Kaleb, Madisyn, Brooklynn, Elijah, Malakai, and Kahleesi; her great-grandchildren, Connor, Justin Jr., Aria, Oakley, and Kai; and her brothers, Terry (Lola) Burton and Larry (Janie) Burton. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will continue to cherish her memory.

Friends and family may gather for visitation from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6:00 pm on the same day at the chapel.
