Sharon M.(Caton) Lewis

Sharon M. (Caton) Lewis, 59, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Sherry was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister who treasured her family. A devout Christian, she was generous, full of life, and enjoyed the beauty of nature. Most important to her was her faith, trust in God, and admiration of all God's creation. Her love of family and faith in God guided her through life.

Sherry was born on April 19, 1954 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Pearl M. DesForges and the late Jack Caton. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Allen Marion Caton.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Lewis; children, Kenyon Nessel (Valerie) of Navarra, FL, Allison Nessel of Charlestown, IN, Patrick Nessel of Ada, OK, Todd Lewis (Heather) of Winchester, VA, Charles "Scooter" Lassiter of Jeffersonville, IN; sisters, Naomi Gilbert (Hubert) of Choctaw, OK, Lynn Stramski of Oklahoma City, Jacky Caton (Sharrel) of Ada, OK; grandchildren, Lashun and Johnathan Ashby, Hailee and Ashley Nessel, Madison and Breanna Chapman, Jacob and Alyssa Lewis, Gage Nessel; great-grandchildren, Malik Blackmon and Davion Johnson.

Cremation was chosen following Sherry's wishes. Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) has been entrusted with her care. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Gentiva Hospice (391 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, IN 47130).
