Sharon Ann Jackson Stubbs was born, along with her twin sister, Karen Nan, on August 21, 1940. Ann departed this life for her home in Glory on Monday, January 7, 2025.
Ann was preceded in death by her loving parents, Estil and Lottie (Ellis) Jackson. Her wonderful husband, Leonard G. Stubbs, as well as her twin sister and her brother-in-law, Karen Nan and Billy Jack Tackett.
Ann was a loving and a very compassionate person, she saw no strangers and was always eager to help. She loved hosting family get togethers, and continued that after Leonard passed away.
She enjoyed a full life and graduated from Loyall High School, Eastern Kentucky University, University of Kentucky and Union College. She was employed by Harlan Co Board of Education for many years, from teaching to her very tenured career as the School Food Service Director.
After retirement, she and Leonard enjoyed many days on their farm in London, where they both loved to garden, visit family, host picnics and just enjoy life.
In later years, she was Leonard's helper as an assistant to his tax preparations with AARP Volunteer work. She was a member of Loyall Methodist Church and truly loved her Lord Jesus Christ.
Ann will be missed and always loved by her surviving family members: her great-nephew, who she claimed as hers, William David Nolan and his wife, Amanda Nicole Nolan. The two loves of her life who she taught so much to...Sarah Makenzie and Hannah Rose Nolan. Also, her two nieces and their husbands, Regina Ann (Jeannie) Nolan and William, Karen LaVonis Miracle and Dennis Miracle. Lessons learned from Ann will always be remembered and treasured.
She will also be remembered by extended family and friends, Dale and Sheila, Myrna, Marion Rose, Chester, Cara, Marlene and dear friend Betty.
Abiding by Ann's wishes, her ashes will be placed beside her husband Leonard at a private family service later in the spring.
