Shari Alice Langdon (North), 61, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2024 after an 8-year battle with cancer, with her family by her side. She was born on December 10, 1962 in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Earl Edward North and Lillie Ann Clark (Ward).
Shari was also preceded in death by her husband, David Wayne Langdon; her brother-in-law, Joseph Edward Carroll (Marla); and all of her grandparents. She is survived by her children, Amanda Gail Langdon and Jaycob Todd Langdon of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, and Joshua David Langdon (Jamie) of Jeffersonville, Indiana; her beautiful granddaughter, Mila Lynn Langdon; her mother, Lillie Ann Clark (Ward) of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; her step-mother, Rozella North of New Albany, Indiana; her sisters, Marla Ann Carroll of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, Karen Marie Engle (Doug) of Georgetown, Indiana, Glenda Raye Clark and Linda Raye Clark of New Albany, Indiana; her brother, Dennis Jay North of Nashville, Tennessee; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will dearly miss her. Shari is also survived by her wonderful friend, Bill Gardner; and her four-legged feline granddaughter, Olivia.
Shari was shy and very polite and at times, a bit feisty. She also loved working at Plaza Laundry in New Albany. She recently learned to crochet and made many blankets for her family, loved anything and everything that sparkled, the color pink, sun-tanning, spending time with her kids and could not wait to meet her first grandchild, Mila, who brought such great joy to her life. Shari’s children describe her as, “The best Mom we could ever ask for.” They are right. Shari was the best Mom, Grandma, Sister, Daughter, you name it. She was so very beautiful in every way and we all feel her loss.
But Shari would not want us to be sad. With everything she went through over the past several years, she always maintained a positive attitude and continued to live her life to the fullest. She is on her next journey now and her memory will live on in all of our hearts, our thoughts, conversations and every holiday and birthday. She is so loved and will never be forgotten.
It was Shari’s wish to not have a funeral service and to be cremated. Her family will announce a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN).
