Shanon Marie Maymon

Shanon Marie Maymon, 55, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. She attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Shanon furthered her education at Spencerian College to become a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist. She worked at Norton Healthcare as a mental health technician on an acute adult psychiatric unit while attending school full time at Spencerian College. Once graduating with her degree, she worked for Norton Healthcare as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist. Shanon spent her life caring for others and was passionate about her work.

She was born on February 5, 1969 in New Albany, Indiana to the late John L. Maymon and Catherine E. Hoffman Maymon. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Kim R. Maymon.

Shanon is survived by her siblings, Mona C. (Bob) Lewen, Rhonda (Bob) Eckert, John M. (Susan) Maymon, Joseph M. (Kim) Maymon, Most Rev. Archbishop of Philadelphia Mark A. Maymon, and Patrick D. (Carol) Maymon; 16 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Memorial Gathering will be from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Cremation was chosen following Shanon's wishes.

Memorial contributions in Shanon's memory can be to the Floyd County Animal Rescue League (215 W Market St, New Albany, IN 47150).
