Shannon Renee Humphrey "The Card Shark", 45, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 18, 1974 in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from Valley High School in 1994. Shannon was an avid UofL fan and was known for sporting her UofL hat and clothes. She was also a lover of wrestling and NASCAR.
Shannon is preceded in death by her loving mother, June Humphrey, father, Robert L. Humphrey and nephew, Robert Jason Humphrey.
She is survived by her two sisters, Kim (Rickey) McKnight & Kathy O'Bryan; four brothers, Kevin (Dana) Humphrey, Kent (Barbie) Humphrey, John (Angelia) Humphrey & Anthony Humphrey; 12 special nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her favorite Aunt Judi and many cousins and friends who loved her dearly, plus her friends at Regency Healthcare (especially her best friends Rita & Paula).
The family would like to especially thank Dr. Matthew Peterson and his staff for the friendship and compassionate care given to Shannon over the years. Thanks also to the Dr's and nurses at Norton Downtown ICU 4F & 5B for your dedicated care and compassion to Shannon and the family, and a special thank you to Hosparus for your loving care.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Funeral Ceremony at 6:00 pm on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy).
The family requests that contributions in Shannon's memory be made to Kosair Children's Hospital or Hosparus.
