Shamicka Lacole King

Shamicka L. King, 46, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023. Shamicka was a beautiful soul with a big heart. She was a wonderful mother, sister, cousin, friend and caregiver. A child of God. The value of family and community was always important to her and had a way of making people feel welcomed and at home.

Shamicka valued education and loved to learn. She went on to purse her educational journey in business and computer science after graduating high school. She was a big sports fan. Her favorite sports were basketball and tennis.

She was born on July 9, 1977 in Louisville, Kentucky to Louis Franklin and Patsy (McElroy) King. She is preceded in death by her Father, Louis A. Franklin, Mother, Patsy E. King, and Brother, Shawn King.

Shamicka is survived by her loving family, Daughters, Janae N. Boyd and Zaria R. Boyd; Siblings, Sherman King Jr., Denise Combs, Louis King, Demetrius King and William King; Best Friends, Evette Ray and Yvette Johnson; Bonus Mother/Nana, Mattie Jones and Bonus Mother/Nana, Ella Ray; Aunts, Merlin Jones and IJ Jones, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her loving memory.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions Southwest (10304 Dixie Hwy Louisville, KY 40272). Her Funeral Service will be at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest.

The family requests that contributions in Shamicka's memory be made towards her services and/or to The Family Scholar House (403 Reg Smith Circle Louisville, KY 40208).
