Sgt. Kenneth Wages, Jr.

Sgt. Maj. Paul Kenneth Wages, Jr., 78, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023. He had a 30-year, highly-decorated career in the United States Army, where he served in the 173d Airborne Brigade and retired with the status of E9.

He was born on March 22, 1945, in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, to Paul, Sr., and Lennie (Willoughby) Wages. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his siblings, Jeff and Rhoda.

Paul is survived by his wife, Aida "Rose" (Texter) Wages; son, Jeff Wages; sister, Sue Thurston (Randal); stepchildren, Joshua Hollis (Alysse) and Erica Hollis; grandchildren, Adrianna and Jena Wages, Margot and Elliot Hollis, and Mia and Reid Norrington; and great-grandson, Atlas.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his funeral service taking place at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Floyds Knobs.
