Scott Tracey Vanfleet

Scott Tracey Vanfleet, 62, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on December 5, 2023. He was born in Salem, Indiana on August 2, 1961.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Penny (Rowe) VanFleet; father, James A. "Sonny" VanFleet; grandparents, James "Orville" and Nancy C. Hilbert, and Fount and Margie VanFleet.

Scott is survived by his mother, Edna (Hilbert) Wallace and step-father, Harry "Frank" Wallace; children, Tiffany York, Adam (Krystal) and Jeremy VanFleet; step-daughters, Melissa and Michelle Mayfield; brothers, Paul and Kenny Wallace and Travis VanFleet (Terrie); sisters, Angela Worstenholm (Robert) and Founta Jones (Robert); and nine grandchildren.

He was a quiet, gentle and kind soul who loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Scott had always enjoyed hunting, fishing, looking for mushrooms, collecting unique rocks and exploring caves. He liked planting gardens and flowers. Scott loved his little dogs and spending time with family, and his home was always welcoming for friends and occasional strangers. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 10:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Byrneville Cemetery.
