Sarah Lynn Gibson

Sarah Lynn Gibson, age 51 of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 after a lifelong battle with diabetes. Having grown up in Louisville, Kentucky, Sally attended Western Kentucky University where she met her husband and subsequently traveled around the United States during a 20-year career as a US Navy Wife. She was preceded in death by her father, Jouett Todd Brown.

Sally is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Wesley J. Gibson, mother Brigid Walker, step-mother Renee Brown, sisters Brigid Brown, Margaret "Peggy" Carrasquillo, and Judith "Judy" Britt, brother Charles Todd Brown, step-sister Amy Hiler, nieces Katie Dawson, Megan Dae Brown and Brigid-ann Britt, and nephews Randall Carrasquillo and Andrew Britt.

A celebration of her life will be held 7pm Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown, Ky with visitation there from 2pm until time of ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sally's memory can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
