Sara Ruth Bowell

Sara "Ruth" (Roberts) Bowell, 80, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on April 18, 2012 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. She had a passionate love for the Lord, for her family, and was an avid IU basketball fan. Ruth could be described as a faith-filled woman who showed compassion and truly cared for anyone she encountered.
Ruth was born on April 5, 1932 in Shelbyville, KY to the late Clarence and Florence (Thurman) Roberts. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jack and Bobby Roberts.
She is survived by her children, Angela Burgin (Andrew Baumberger), Brad Bowell, Chuck Frank (Julie Effron); granddaughter, Alex Burgin; and great-granddaughter, Avery Grace Mills.
Cremation was chosen following Ruth's wishes. A Memorial Service will take place at 4:30 PM on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Bethany Christian Church (9007 State Road 62, Charlestown, IN 47111). Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) is handling the arrangements.
