Sara Mae Burden

Sara Mae Burden, 42, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Sara was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, and aunt. She enjoyed spending time caring for her family, her dogs, and her nieces and nephews. Sara's family meant the world to her. She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

She was born on June 13, 1981 in Louisville, Kentucky to Anthony and Patricia (Hancock) Carta. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jay Burden.

Sara is survived by her loving family, father, Anthony Carta, II; mother, Patricia (Benjamin) Davis; siblings, Tony (Crystal) Carta, III, Dana (Glen) Crabtree, Jason (Christy) Carta, Brandon (Rachel) Carta, Adam (Stephanie) Carta, Damon (Missy) Carta, Derrick (Renee) Carta, and Nick Carta; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A celebration of her life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West in Louisville, Kentucky.

The family requests that contributions in Sara's memory be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
