Sandy Lawson

Sandy Lawson, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away on February 16, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 1, 1949, in Caneyville, Kentucky, she was the cherished daughter of the late Oval and Winifred (Cockrell) Lawson.

Throughout her life, Sandy had a passion for her work, dedicating over 15 years to the UPS Custom House Brokerage. Her strong work ethic and commitment were evident in all that she did. A proud graduate of Ahrens Trade/High School in 1967, she carried the values of hard work and determination throughout her career.

Sandy was known for her unique laugh and her delightful personality. As an avid animal lover, she embraced life with an infectious spirit and a sweet tooth that led her to enjoy numerous treats. She found great joy in spending time with her coworkers and family, frequently visiting Derby Dinner Playhouse several times each year, where laughter and the magic of performance filled their hearts.

Sandy is survived by her loving children, Kyle Owens (Lisa) and Jennifer Owens, who continue to carry forward her legacy of compassion and warmth. She was a caring grandmother to Olivia, Dylan, and Tyler Owens. Additionally, her memory lives on through her siblings, Regina Hardesty (Carl), Diane Satterly (Bill), and Greg Lawson (Patty), who shared countless memories and experiences with her throughout their lives.

As we remember Sandy, we celebrate a life rich in love, laughter, and cherished moments with family and friends. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.

Per Sandy's wishes cremation was chosen and a celebration of life will be held privately.
