Sandra Gail Jull, 80, passed away on January 22, 2024 at Baptist Health Louisville, surrounded by her loving daughters.
She was born on May 24, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Judge Louis Head Jull and Dorothy Hall Jull. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Cary Thomas Jull II; and her husband, Jesse Howard Vibbert. She is survived by her daughters, Tracy Bryan Slover (Robert), Jennifer Bryan Morgan (Larry), and Amy Bryan Perry (Allen). She is also survived by her sister, Paula Wood Jull (Scott Evans) and her daughters' father, James Lloyd Bryan, Jr. Sandra was very proud of her grandchildren Dorothy Marléna Whisler, née Slover (Dan), Margaret Gail Slover, Mary Katherine Perry, Andrew Bryan Perry, and Henry Bryan Morgan.
Sandra attended Saint Raphael Catholic School and graduated from Assumption High School. A lifelong learner, she was most happy attending institutions of higher learning, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Louisville, a Master of Divinity degree from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and a Master of Library Science degree from Spalding University. With limitless intellectual curiosity and a deep enthusiasm for historical research, Sandra's varied scholarship included works on 19th century Catholic Sisters in Kentucky as well as Jewish resistance against the Third Reich.
As a young woman, Sandra received training at St. Joseph Infirmary and worked as an X-ray technician at Owens Medical Center. After raising her daughters, Sandra earned advanced degrees and worked as an editorial assistant at Westminster John Knox Press and as a school librarian at Saint Thomas More School and Bullitt East High School, respectively.
Sandra loved all animals and never met a stray cat that she didn't welcome into her home. She allowed her daughters to adopt countless guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, and the most loyal dog in the world – dear Lobo – while they were growing up. Sandra was a committed vegetarian for decades and fulfilled a lifelong desire by converting, with Jesse, and joining The Temple (Reform Judaism) later in life.
According to her wishes, all services for Sandra will be private.
The family requests that contributions in Sandra's memory be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.

"Sandra Jull was by turns Catholic, Presbyterian, unaffiliated, and finally Jewish. Did any of this disqualify her for heaven? I think not. Heaven is surely a place of peace. May God our Maker, blessed be he, give eternal rest to Sandra's soul. Long may her memory abide and inspire us to fulfill our own callings in life. Praise the Lord! Amen." (Longtime friend, Carl Helmich).
