Sandra Jean Schroerlucke, 65 of Louisville, KY. passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012.
Sandy was a graduate of Presentation Academy and Spalding College. Sandy was a member of the American Turners and was also very active with Friends for Hope - another wonderful cancer support group. She worked at St Joseph Hospital where she became a Med Tech she also worked at Suburban Hospital for 32 years. She then took on a second career as a science teacher at Presentation Academy for 19 years. She also was a substitute teacher at Trinity and DeSales High Schools. Sandy had many activities, she taught an Aviation class at Presentation and science classes at the University of Louisville and Spalding College. She studied about coal mines for her environmental science class at Presentation Academy. While at Presentation Academy she was a big advocate of the sports teams including basketball and volleyball where she was the score keeper for 19 years. She never missed a game with the girls there.
Lots of boy scouts - Sandy went thru the Wood Badge Leadership Program as well as the Cub Wood Leadership Program of the Boy Scouts, where she was very dedicated. For her fun time and hobby she learned how to make greeting cards. She also taught classes on Card Making at Gilda's. Both she and Dutch became very active with Gilda's Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lorain Hoffman; son Charlie and a sister, Betty Ann.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 41 years, Dutch; a son, John Schroerlucke; brother, Terry Hoffman; grandson, Justin (Erica) and great granddaughter, Kailey; a special cousin who helped care for Sandy, Fran Ferrell (Jim).
