Sallie Banks, 68, of Louisville, KY went home to the Lord on Thursday, February 9, 2012. She was born on September 20, 1943 in Louisville and attended Waggener High School and Sullivan College.
Sallie's life reflected her desire to serve others. As a parent volunteer, she worked tirelessly to support education in Jefferson County Public Schools. She also served on several volunteer committees at her church, Middletown Christian Church. A gifted interior designer, she won several Homearama awards before retiring from the Sherwin-Williams Corporation in 2005. Sallie's loving concern for others, her passion for life, and her delightful sense of humor will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her two children, Rebecca Banks Cull of Louisville and William R. Banks, II of Lexington, along with her four grandchildren: Graham Cull, Erin Cull, William Banks, and Cece Banks.
Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with visitation after 3:00 p.m.
