Ruth Elizabeth (Williams) Turner, 80, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. She was an active member of the YMCA in Jeffersonville as well as the First Southern Baptist Church in Clarksville. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother that will be dearly missed.
Ruth was born on May 26, 1933 in Barren County, Kentucky to the late Benjamin, Sr. and Emma (Bowles) Turner. She was also preceded in death by her husband of over 59 years, Kenneth R. Turner; and son, Delmar "Del" Turner.
She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Miller (Ken), Monya Turner-Schindler (Ken); brother, Ben Williams, Jr.; grandchildren, Monya Ringler (Mike), Patrick Alexander (Farrah), Amber Miller, Jessica Puryear (Tim), Kevin Vittitow; great-grandchildren, Aurora and Alan Ringler, Daniel Alexander, and Raelee Vittitow.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 2 PM to 8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will take place on Saturday at 11 AM in the chapel at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the YMCA (4812 Hamburg Pike, Jeffersonville, IN 47130).
