Ruth Allison Daniels

Ruth A. Daniels was born on June 18, 1957, to Gonzella Ruth Shaw Thomas Winn and Richard Thomas.

She matriculated through JCPS school system starting at Virginia Avenue Elementary school then to Duvalle Junior High and graduating from Central high school in 1975. Ruth pursued higher education at Hampton University in Administrative studies. During her education, she had two children by Lonnie Taylor, Lonnie, and Tisha Thomas. Ruth continued her education at JCC completing her degree in Clerical studies. After finishing her education Ruth later married Lawerence H. Daniels and her family grew once more adding two bonus children Marquonsa and Kenya Daniels. Ruth began her professional career working for Presbyterian Church USA
Ruth began her Christian journey at Von Spiegel Baptist Church where she accepted Christ at an early age. She later joined Hill Street Missionary Baptist Church and she later became a member of New Greater First Peter Missionary Baptist Church.
We are left with great memories of her being an active member in many community organizations including Elder Serve, Russel a Place of Promise, and The African American Heritage Museum.

Ruth was an avid lover of playing cards and cheering on her Louisville Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys.

Ruth never meant a stranger having a warm personality being a great friend to many. Ruth enjoyed her retirement days traveling with her companion Carl Douglas, giving back to her community, and enjoying her grandchildren.

Ruth was called home to her heavenly resting place on August 03,2023.

Proceeding in death her son Lonnie, Brothers Stanley, David, and sister Juanita.

Left to cherish her memories her children Marquonsa Daniels (Tosha Daniels), Kenya Sims, Tisha Davidson (Damon Davidson). Surviving siblings Glynis and Bruce and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Hill Street Baptist Church, 2203 Dixie Highway, Louisville KY 40210. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the church.
