Rusty Wade Schuler, a beloved figure in his community and a dedicated family man, passed away peacefully in Louisville, Kentucky, on January 15, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on February 29, 1964, in Louisville, he lived a life marked by kindness, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to his work and family.
A proud graduate of Shawnee High School, Rusty pursued a notable career as a journeyman HVAC technician, working for many years at Chamberlain Oaks. His diligent work ethic and technical skill earned him respect among his peers and clients alike.
Described by friends and family as hardworking, humorous, and fun-loving, Rusty was a loyal father, devoted brother, compassionate grandfather, and steadfast friend. His warmth and dedication to those he cared for left an indelible mark on the lives of many.
Rusty had a wide range of interests that included his love for fishing, an enthusiasm for horror films and a keen eye for collecting, whether it be memorabilia or curious items. He had a passion for working on cars, carpentry, and woodwork, often losing track of time as he immersed himself in projects. He also enjoyed playing billiards and poker, with Texas Hold'em being a favored pastime. Above all, Rusty cherished spending quality time with his family and friends, whom he adored deeply. His love for dogs was evident, reflecting his gentle and caring nature.
Rusty’s proudest accomplishment in life was witnessing his family grow. He is survived by his son, Daniel W. (Shirley) Schuler; sisters, Anna Schuler, Bernice (Vaughn) Priddy, Floretta Bishop, Angela Allen, Laura L (Charles) Bishop, and Josie Sabie; brothers, Anthony E. Schuler, Calvin D. Schuler, and David Schuler; step-daughter, Ashley Shaffer; step-son, Michael Lanham; and grandchildren, Ashton Walton and Paris Walton. Rusty is also mourned by many loving family members and friends who will always carry his memory in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Malcolm Lawrence Schuler; mother, Etta Lee Schuler; sister, Estelle Cox; and brothers, Joseph P. Schuler, Malcolm Schuler, Jr., and sister, Loretta Priddy.
Rusty Wade Schuler leaves behind a rich legacy of love, laughter, and a commitment to family that will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. His spirit and kindness will continue to resonate within the hearts of those he touched and inspired.

A celebration of life will be held for Rusty at a later date, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions East Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville KY, 40243, is entrusted with his arrangements.
