Russell Glenn Gadd

Russell Glenn Gadd, 91, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Russell was born in Wildie, Kentucky, to the late William Butler Gadd and Martha Catherine Gadd (nee Anglin). He rose from humble beginnings to be a kind and gentle soul, a man of strong Christian faith with unending patience, a father to many in need, a loving husband, father and Pa-paw. Russell graduated from Berea College with a business degree and worked as an accountant throughout his career. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1961 and served aboard the battleship USS Iowa (BB-61). Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers James, Oscar, Cluster, Henry, Marion, Earl, Bill, and sister Edna. Russell was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Russell is survived by his wife of 64 years, June Carole Gadd, and children Rick (Monica) Gadd, Therese (Dan) Busch, and Tracey (John) Hayes; grandchildren Leigh (Ben) Phillips, Mindy (Ed) Coy, Andrew (Lauren) Busch, Emily (Charles) Wilkerson, Rachel (Colin) Cranston, and Matthew Gadd; great-grandchildren Kameryn, Connor, Lily, Alexander, Emmett, Charlie, Noah, and River. Russell is also survived by his sister Margie Covington, sister-in-law Dorothy Gadd, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky, with a funeral service to follow. Burial will take place at a later date.
