Ruby Lee Samples Krause, 79, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.
She was born on October 6, 1944 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late William and Annie (Brown) Samples . Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Logan Samples, and her sister, Mary Ellen "Sis" Krause.
Ruby is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James "Peck" Krause, Sr., daughter, Becky Krause Dedas, son, Jim (Cindy) Krause, Jr., grandchildren that she adored, Cameron Krause, Thomas (Skylar) Krause and Annie Dedas, her brothers, Curtis (Shirley) Samples and James "Dink" Samples, her sisters, Nora Jean (Ron) Horsley and JoAnn (Jim) Baker, along with a host of family and friends and grand pets that will miss her dearly.
Ruby attended Alice Waller School and Pleasure Ridge Park High School. Caring for children was her passion; she went on to work as a daycare worker at Herald Johnson Church and a lunch room lady at Carter Elementary and Kenwood Elementary, where she retired in 2022.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 28th and 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday November 29th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
