Ruby Jo(Hart) Nichols

Ruby Jo (Hart) Nichols, 86, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on April 12, 2014. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge #1 and Parkway Southern Baptist Church in New Albany. Ruby had worked at the Fashion Shoppe and been an active volunteer for many years at Floyd Memorial Hospital. She was a talented quilter and enjoyed working puzzle books and going for long walks around town.

Ruby was born on May 5, 1927 in Campaign, Tennessee to the late Lester and Mary (Judd) Hart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Nichols; children, Mary Jane "Nikki" Keeler, William "Bill/Nick" Nichols; and brothers, Bill and Edsel Hart.

She is survived by her grandsons, Jared Keeler (Sharma), Jason Nichols (Hannah); great-grandchildren, Amara, Henryk, Emlyn, Brianna, Janna, Jacob; and close friends, Gary and Rhonda Cullen.

Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1:30 PM Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). Her Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Mount Holly Cemetery in Fairdale, Kentucky.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary at Floyd Memorial Hospital (1850 State Street, New Albany).
