Roy Lee May

Roy Lee May, 89, of New Washington, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at home, surrounded by family. Roy was a graduate of New Washington High School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, who served in the Korean War. Roy was a hard worker his entire life. He owned and operated two sanitation businesses, worked for Jeff Boat for 20 years as a weld inspector, was a farmer, and also worked for Bowers LP Gas for many years. He was a faithful member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and served as a deacon there for over 50 years. Roy spent his life devoted to God and his family. He loved spending time with both.

He was born on July 31, 1932, in Hibernia, Indiana, to the late Leroy May and Hazel (Goodwin) May. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Pearl (Brester) May; stepmother, Elvie Lois May; sisters, Faye Webb, Lois Cowan, Melissa May, Nellie May, and Gertrude Doyle; brothers, Ralph May, James May, Marion Brison, and Eugene Brison.

Roy is survived by his children, Connie (Jerry) Watkins, Diana (Ronnie) Collins, Rick (Carol) May, Sally (Dennis) Bower, Jimmy (Lesa) May, Ronnie (Carrie) May, Julie (Ray) Smith, Christine (Donnie) May, Malisa (Jeff) May-Thompson, John May, and Phillip May; sister, Edith (Jimmy) Abbott; and 56 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Pleasant View Baptist Church (19616 SR 62, Marysville, IN 47141). Visitation will continue on Wednesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church with burial to follow at Owen Creek Cemetery.
