Roy Steven Holmes

Roy Steven Holmes, age 71, formerly of Louisville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, June 8th, 2023 at the Signature Healthcare Center. Born and raised in Glasgow, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Roy N. Holmes and Nancy Berman. A beloved and highly respected musician in the Louisville music scene, among being a founding member of Buster Brown, he was also a member of such notable groups as Lamont Gillispie and 100 proof Blues, and The Greg Martin Group. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Holmes of Glasgow, Ky.
Roy is survived by his children, Elizabeth Geevarghese, and Chris Holmes; his grandson, Kaleb Geevarghese; and his beloved dog, Gizmo.
Expressions of sympathy may be given to American Diabetes Association, Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, or the Humane Society of Louisville.
A private service will be held for family and close friends.
