Roy Gerald "Jerry" Combest, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023.
He was born on December 5, 1942 in White Oak, Kentucky to the late Henry and Frances (Flatt) Combest. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Joann Wright.
Jerry was a devoted and loving family man with a heart of gold. He enjoyed hot rods, golfing and bowling in his free time. Jerry leaves a caring and selfless legacy that will be carried on through the people that loved him most.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Catherine "Cathy" Combest, daughters, Lisa Combest Vascovich, Karen Combest, and Kathy Jo Combest Vibbert, 8 grandchildren, Michael Vibbert, Kevin Vascovich, Misty Barton, Steven Vascovich, Timothy Combest, Christian Barton, Christopher Vibbert, Cody Barton, 10 great grandchildren, Makayla Patterson, Jaxon Patterson, Christine Combest, Julien Tallent, Gracie Combest, Savannah Vascovich, Jaxson Combest, Elliana Maddox, David Hawkins and Garrett Buchanan, and his sister, Debbie (Gary) Churchman.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 5th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery.
