Roy Lee Been, 76, of New Albany, Indiana, died unexpectedly in his sleep on Friday, August 4, 2023. He was an avid golfer. Roy was a graduate of Jeffersonville Class of '64.
He was born on October 23, 1946 in New Albany, Indiana to John Been and Mary Dooley Been. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Roy is survived by his wife, Jan; 4 sons, David, Roy Jr., Aaron, and Brian; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and his loyal companion, Sheldon White Dog.
A Memorial Gathering will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Cremation was chosen following Roy's wishes.
