Roxanne Claire Hobbs, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, with her loving husband, Raymond Louis Hobbs, by her side. Born on December 28, 1940, in Springfield, Vermont, Roxanne devoted her life to her family and embraced every moment with compassion and warmth.
Roxanne was a proud graduate of Wheaton High School and furthered her education at Northern Illinois College. However, it was as a devoted homemaker that she truly thrived. She ensured that her family's needs were met with love and dedication, embracing the role with a heart filled with nurturing and kindness. Her commitment to her family was unwavering, and she took immense pride in watching them achieve their dreams and goals.
Her warm personality reflected her compassionate, caring, and loyal nature. Roxanne's love knew no bounds, and she poured her heart into everything she did. Whether she was sharing laughter or offering comforting words, her presence brought joy to those around her. Music was another significant part of her life; she enjoyed playing the piano, which filled her home with melodic tunes that resonated in the hearts of her loved ones.
Roxanne found great happiness in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever. The sound of their laughter was the music that brightened her days, and she was always eager to celebrate their achievements, no matter how small. From birthday parties to simple family gatherings, she made every occasion special, celebrating the bonds that held them all together.
Roxanne is survived by her beloved husband, Raymond; her treasured children, Jill Hobbs, Mark Hobbs, and Jeffrey (Lisa) Hobbs; and her adoring grandchildren, Lucas Hobbs, Maci Hobbs, Christian Hancock, Courtney Hancock, Alex Jones, and Jack Jones III. Additionally, she will be deeply missed by her great-grandchildren, Noah Hancock, Asa Hancock, and Ava Hancock. Her brother, Gary (Carol) Rumrill, will carry her memory forward, as will many friends and loved ones who were touched by her spirit.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Germaine Rumrill; her father, Maurice Rumrill; and her cherished daughter, Jennifer Jones. Their memories will remain intertwined with Roxanne's in an unbreakable bond of love that transcends even time.
A memorial gathering in honor of Roxanne will take place on April 8, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243.
Roxanne Claire Hobbs will be remembered for her unwavering love, her devotion to family, and her gentle spirit. Though she may have departed from this world, her legacy of love will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
