Rose M. Receveur, 74, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. Rosie had a fun and exuberant spirit and never met a stranger. She was a talker; her husband often said she could find someone to talk to in the middle of a 40-acre field. She loved spending time with her husband, cruising around Frisch's in their youth and, in later years, taking trips to Gatlinburg, where she would count absolutely every animal she saw, even turtles. Rosie loved the outdoors and tortured her children often with very primitive camping trips. She was a very creative and crafty person whose hobbies included painting ceramics, needlepoint, flower arranging, and keeping home interiors in business. Rosie served her community as a very involved Girl Scout Brownie leader. She was an employee of both the AT&T phone company and Beach Mold & Tool and a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. Above all, Rosie created a loving and beautiful home and gave her whole heart and soul to her family and friends.
She was born on October 18, 1948, in New Albany, Indiana, to Robert and Agnes (Very) Falkenstein. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Cletus Receveur; father, Robert M. Falkenstein; mother, Agnes M. Falkenstein; sister, Annie Falkenstein; and brother, Bobby Falkenstein.
Rosie is survived by her loving children, son, Adam J. (Kathleen) Receveur; daughter, Mindy S. Brockwell; daughter, Melanie A. Receveur; grandchildren, Grayson Brockwell, Colton Brockwell, Alexander Receveur, and Elizabeth Receveur.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery in Floyds Knobs, Indiana.
