Rose Mary King

Rose Mary (Hammond) King, 77, of Palmyra, Indiana, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024. Rose took care of and helped many people through the years. Her biggest joy was teaching her grandchildren how to cook and baking cookies with them. She loved to attend the events for the grandchildren. Rose also enjoyed the family dinners with her large family through the years.

She was born on August 9, 1946 to the late Hearld Hammond and Genevieve Wimsatt Hammond. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Gale Johnson; brothers, Larry Hammond and Chris Hammond; and brother-in-law, Chris Kay.

Rose is survived by her loving husband, Nathan King; children, Donna Lindsey, Lynn Johnson, and John (Julie) King; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Garry (Pat) Hammond, Tom (Rochelle) Hammond, Danny (Alma) Hammond, Bev (Mike) Schmidt, Kathy (Mike) Brown, Lois (Rob) Philpot, Lisa (Bob) Hillerich, Donna (Everett) Koopman, Suzie (Mike) Masden, Annette Kay, Judy (Bob) Ouellette, and Laura (Bruce) Howard; and sister-in-law, Lori Hammond.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, at the funeral home. Rose will be laid to rest at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
