Rondel Elliott Stewart

Rondel Elliott Stewart, 74, passed away on June 27, 2023. He was an Army veteran who proudly served his country, Rondel was a regular patron of Churchill Downs VFW Post 2921. He cherished his family and was a loyal friend, who fiercely protected those he loved. Rondel never met a stranger or forgot a face. He could always make you laugh with the stories he told. Rondel will be truly missed, but will forever live in our hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Mary Deloris Stewart; sisters, Wanda Earle and Brenda Stewart; granddaughter, Danielle Sweeney and nephew, Mikey Stewart.

Rondel leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter, Tammy Keith Newton; life companion and sweetheart of 46 years, Debbie Alvey; brother, Michael Stewart; grandsons, Justin (Becca) and Ishmael (Jazmine); great-grandson, Elijah; great-granddaughter, Caliee; nieces, Patty Hornung and Pam Neal (Jeff); nephew, Jared Stewart and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nephew, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 11am-8pm with a celebration of Rondel's life beginning at 6pm.

Rondel will be laid to rest on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Cub Run Cemetery, KY State Hwy 88, Cub Run, KY 42729, beginning at 12pm (Central Standard Time).

The family would like to thank Bonnie and Caleb at Hospice for the love and care they gave Rondel.
